On July 31, 2025, Innovative Legal Services (ILS) celebrated two major milestones: the reopening of our Silicon Valley office after a full relocation and renovation, and the official announcement of David Liu, Esq. joining the firm as a Partner in our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice.
Our Silicon Valley team has moved into a newly redesigned space tailored for collaboration, growth, and better service to our clients in the region. The updated office reflects our continued investment in providing a modern, welcoming environment for both our team and our clients.
As we welcomed clients, friends, and colleagues to tour the new office, we were also proud to share another exciting announcement:
David Liu, Esq. has officially joined ILS as a Partner in our Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) practice.
David brings an exceptional combination of legal and technical expertise. He earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School and holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Washington. His dual background allows him to provide forward-thinking legal solutions at the intersection of law, technology, and business.
With experience spanning over 100 financing and strategic transactions totaling more than $3 billion, David has advised companies at every stage—from early startups to global enterprises. He previously served as Head of Legal at AI unicorn Humane, Inc., where he led the company through its acquisition by HP. He also practiced at leading law firms including Wilson Sonsini, Latham & Watkins, Cooley, and Gibson Dunn.
To mark both the office opening and David’s official arrival, we hosted a Happy Hour with new and old friends of the firm.
It was a memorable evening—one that reflected not only how far we’ve come, but also where we’re headed.
