Sheila has both U.S. litigation experience and prior legal practice experience in China, with a background spanning complex commercial disputes, insurance defense, and high-exposure civil litigation. In California, Sheila has independently managed a full litigation caseload, conducted depositions on a regular basis, appeared in court weekly, and drafted substantive pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions in matters involving large corporations and public entities, including U-Haul, Sysco, and Access Services, as well as sophisticated business disputes involving unfair competition, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, partnership conflicts, fraud, employment-related claims.
Before relocating to the United States, She practiced in China’s Foreign Direct Investment and civil litigation sectors, advising multinational clients on WFOE and joint-venture formation, due diligence, and complex commercial contracting, while also litigating contract, debt, real estate, and labor disputes.

• Assisted a Chinese state-owned commercial vehicle manufacturer in an LCIA arbitration involving a multi-billion-dollar joint venture dispute with a Brazilian company, working as part of an international legal team that resulted in a favorable settlement.
• Assisted a Chinese state-owned mining truck manufacturer in U.S. court litigation involving a high-exposure trade secret misappropriation claim brought by an American company, working as part of a cross-border legal team to achieve a favorable settlement that reduced significant litigation risk.
• Assisted a client in a Ventura County Superior Court joint venture dispute in the cannabis industry against a cold storage panel manufacturer, securing a $12 million jury verdict for breach of contract and fiduciary duties.
• Assisted a high-net-worth physician and his medical corporation in a jury trial involving fiduciary duty claims, obtaining a complete defense verdict in a high-stakes medical partnership dispute.
