Mei Tsang
Partner
Head of IP Practice Group
Mei is a Partner and Head of IP Practice Group at ILS, transforming intellectual property into a powerful business advantage. She advises companies on global IP strategy, complex litigation, portfolio management, licensing, and strategic transactions, helping businesses protect innovation, strengthen market position, and maximize the commercial value of their intellectual property.
When valuable intellectual property is at stake, Mei helps clients identify, develop, and build substantial patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios across U.S. and international markets. She guides clients in licensing, protecting, and enforcing those rights, drawing on extensive experience leading high-stakes IP disputes involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets before federal and state courts and the TTAB.
Drawing on 25 years of legal and business experience, including law firm ownership and IP practice leadership, Mei brings an executive-level perspective to intellectual property strategy, business growth, and commercial value creation. As both IP counsel and outside general counsel, she works closely with executives to align legal strategies with broader business objectives.
Mei served as 2025 President of the Orange County Bar Association and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Southern California Super Lawyers, and Legal 500. She currently serves as President of the OCBA Charitable Fund and previously served as President of Community Legal Aid SoCal.
